The 2010 Ford Fusion Rocks

Honda and Toyota have had the midsized market all to themsleves with their entries; the Camry and the Accord, since Ford has dropped the Taurus from their line.Originally introduced in Ford's 2006 line-up, the Fusion has new modications including the new Hybrid power plant.  Ford officially released the Fusion Hybrid recently at the Los Angeles Auto Show late in 2008.  What makes this Ford so special is the excellent in-town gas mileage that the hybrid can get.Beating out the Toyota Camry by a large margin, and the economical Civic Hybrid by a hair; the Fusion Hybird is ranked at 41 MPG in town driving.Thanks to an electric motor, the Ford can go up to 47 miles per hour.It has been written about and this system has been used by many to get better MPG than the EPA says are possible.

New technology in the Hybrid allows the Fusion to teach drivers which driving style gets the best fuel economy.Ford has made a smart feature built into the gauge cluster called the Smart Gauge.There are two displays on each side of the gauge cluster that show various hybrid info.The 1st display tells the power left in the battery packs and the remaining amount of fuel.The 2nd information monitor shows the tachometer and the electric mode function.The third monitor will tell how the battery power is and what the engine output is.The fourth screen displays data including power to the wheels and accessory power consumption.All display screens show fuel efficiency, MPG record, voyage account, and changes in coolant temps.To inform the driver which driving style is the best for fuel economy, a real time MPG information gauge is available.

The nav screen shows the Hybrid Energy Flow data.This display will exhibit the five modes of the Hybrid Pwer Train in cluding things like the regenerative braking, the elestric engine boost, and various hybrid and electric drive systems, and finally the charge while at idle.

Pretty much all hybrids are considered Eco friendly but it is the Fusion that goes one step farther by using reclaimed fabric to make the interior.Ford has finally come out with a fuel efficient car that will appeal to the masses and be a leading competitor to Toyota and Honda's hybrids.
